As a third yr dental student in my university, i am a clinician. A clinician can perform dental procedures such as oral prophylaxis, restorations(composite or amalgam), extraction and construction of rpd,fpd and cd under supervision of my licenced clinical instructors. A clinician must be aware in all forms: mentally,physically, emotionally and lastly financially. I suggest to incoming clinicians to prepare themselves by searching patients ahead of time so that when the semester comes they will not waste time looking for patients and that will allow them to maximize their time doing their clinical requirements. Before coming in the clinical infirmary, a clinician must be prepared from armamentarium to steps of procedures. No one wants that the dental appoinment will be hampered. Make sure to stock sets of instruments to be able to accomodate enough patients appointed on a day.
